Hostplus, a prominent Australian superannuation fund, has announced the extension of its group insurance partnership with MetLife Australia until June 2028.
This renewed collaboration aims to elevate servicing models across claims and underwriting, ultimately delivering stronger outcomes for Hostplus members.

Since the inception of their partnership in 2013, MetLife has played a pivotal role in providing cost-effective group insurance to Hostplus members. The extension of this partnership is set to further strengthen their collaboration, offering innovative and enhanced insurance solutions tailored to member needs.

Members are already experiencing the benefits of this partnership through lower premiums, improved insurance terms, and a more personalized claims experience. Currently, Hostplus provides over 865,000 members with Death, Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD), and Income Protection insurance through its alliance with MetLife. Group insurance is available to all eligible Hostplus members, excluding previous Maritime members.

Insurance within superannuation offers essential support during life's most challenging times. Through the partnership with MetLife, Hostplus is transforming the insurance service model, moving toward a more personalized and member-focused experience. The commitment to delivering greater value includes providing insurance benefits at a lower cost and dedicated relationship management throughout the claims process, reinforcing a commitment to service excellence.

MetLife Australia shares this vision, emphasizing the importance of delivering seamless, personalized insurance experiences that support members when it matters most. The focus on being a leading digital insurer aligns with the goal of providing insurance service excellence to support Australians throughout their lives with sustainable life insurance cover.

Hostplus outlined key changes to its insurance offering in a Significant Event Notice to members in August 2024. Further enhancements will be rolled out over the coming 12 months to support enhanced member value and experience.
